MOTOROLA ISSUES STATEMENT ON NAFTA VOTE

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The following press statement was issued today by Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) in reaction to today's vote on the North American Free Trade Agreement:
"We are pleased to see a "yes" vote on NAFTA from the U.S. House of Representatives.
"Passage of NAFTA in the House is a major victory for the U.S. business community, with specific benefits for high-technology companies such as ours. NAFTA will reduce or eliminate tariffs on products shipped to Mexico from Motorola's U.S. production facilities, and will further open government procurement markets in Mexico to us.
"We expect that passage of NAFTA will lead to increased trade opportunities, not only in Mexico, but throughout Latin America. We look forward to participating in the economic growth spurred by NAFTA, both in the U.S. and throughout the region."
