MOTORING: PEUGEOT; DRIVE TIME.
Prices start at pounds 20,875 for the 2-litre version.
June will see the arrival of Peugeot's new 607 executive saloon. A stylish competitor to the major executive offerings from Europe, it has three new engines - a 160 bhp 2.2-litre petrol unit, a 139 bhp 2.2 common rail turbo diesel and a 210 bhp V6 24-valve petrol unit.
Features include; special exhaust filter on the diesel engine which destroys microscopic exhaust particles before they escape; automatic illumination of hazard warning lights under hard braking; a nine-setting suspension system for comfort and control; and electronic sensors to detect loss of tyre pressure.
A new automatic dual mode transmission will feature settings for manual or sequential selection.
Other recent developments from Peugeot include a new customer care package which extends the one year warranty by a further two years, and introduction of the highly rated HDI turbo diesel engine in the Peugeot 806 people carrier, providing a claimed fuel range of up to 900 miles.
