MOSLER INC. ACQUIRES LINX TECHNOLOGIES

HAMILTON, Ohio, July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Announcement is made today of the successful conclusion of the Mosler Inc. purchase of Security Control Systems, Inc. (doing business as LINX Technologies) of Chatsworth, Calif. The agreement to purchase LINX was announced by Mosler on July 7, 1993, pending various conditions which have been negotiated.
In conjunction with this announcement, Mosler President Michael S. Battaglia said, "Mosler has served the banking community for more than 125 years. While we have a presence in the commercial and industrial electronic security systems marketplace, the acquisition of LINX Technologies has brought us closer to our goal of becoming the premier provider of electronic security products and services to all markets. Additionally, our capabilities to serve financial institutions have been significantly enhanced. In our search for a company to quickly broaden our electronic systems offering, the LINX product line, with its open architecture, PC-based technology and its conformance with industry standard communications protocols, made the company especially attractive to us."
According to LINX President and CEO Joseph P. Costa, "With our experience at managing very large projects and the Mosler national sales and service organization of 1,200 highly skilled people, the two companies are a natural fit."
It is expected that the LINX Technologies' workforce will be absorbed in the Mosler organization.
