MORRISON KNUDSEN CREATES ENVIRONMENTAL GIANT

 BOISE, Idaho, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Morrison Knudsen Corp. (MK) (NYSE: MRN) today announced the merger of two of its larger operating groups to form an environmental services giant.
 "We are taking these steps in recognition of the increasing worldwide demand for highly skilled and cost-effective environmental cleanup, restoration and waste-prevention skills," said William J. Agee, MK's chairman and chief executive officer.
 MK's Government Facilities Division, which primarily executes environmental projects for the Department of Energy, has merged with the company's Environmental Services Division, which provides environmental engineering, construction and related services to a wide variety of private and government customers.
 The combined group, with annual revenues exceeding $500 million, will be headquartered in Cleveland, the base for Morrison Knudsen's worldwide engineering activities.
 "Morrison Knudsen offers an unusual array of proprietary technology combined with skilled engineering and experienced on-site know-how for industry and government customers demanding waste cleanup solutions within their budgets," said Gunnar E. Sarsten, president and chief operating officer.
 Thomas H. Zarges, president of MK's Cleveland-based MK-Ferguson group also is president of the new unit. He will continue to report to Sarsten.
 Morrison Knudsen Corp. is an international company serving the environmental, industrial process, power and transportation markets with complete development, design/engineering, construction, operating and financial services.
