MORE DIY AND OTC COLUMNS!
I recently started getting Petersen's HUNTING magazine. I was subscribing to another magazine and switched to PH to run out the rest of my subscription with the company. I just wanted to say I will be renewing my subscription because of Joseph von Benedikts columns.
The do-it-yourself articles about western hunting are exactly what I was looking for in a magazine. They have addressed several questions I have been pondering over the last few months. Especially the Idaho and Nebraska mule deer over-the-counter article ("Open Country," October 2017). I am a firefighter/ paramedic from Florida and a husband with two little girls, so it really helps to attempt to plan a trip when I can find information in articles like Joseph writes because I am on the complete opposite side of the country.
Russell, thank you for the kind words. We are glad that you enjoy the articles, especially those by Joseph von Benedikt. We see ourselves as a quick-and-easy reference for all things DIY related, and Joseph is the perfect contributor to tackle the daunting task of researching western hunting opportunities because of his years of hunting knowledge. This includes taking the time to research over-the-counter opportunities for those wanting to venture West, season dates, best units, and more. That takes a lot of time, and that's why we want our readers to look to us as the best resource for beneficial information. Best of luck with your future DIY hunting adventures. --Kali Parmley, Managing Editor
