MONTANA PRECISION MINING: SKYGAS TECHNOLOGY READY FOR WORLD MARKET

SPOKANE, Wash., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Montana Precision Mining Ltd. (NASDAQ: MPML) announced today that its patented Skygas technology for converting carbonaceous wastes into clean-burning medium BTU fuel gas is ready for active marketing. The announcement was made by MPML President Charles A. Romberg after conferring with venture partners Smogless S.p.A. and Xytel Technologies.
In addition to the gasification of solid and semi-solid wastes, the Skygas process can be used for generating steam for electric power generation as well as the transformation of these wastes into a variety of useful chemicals.
Romberg said that, as a result of "a highly successful development program" conducted by Smogless, "several proposals for potential clients are being completed. We are now highly confident in our ability to competitively market Skygas in the worldwide market. I have no doubt that this technology will shortly be accepted as an unparalleled system for dealing with our planet's environmental and energy-related issues."
Smogless is prepared to design and construct plants utilizing the Skygas technology. Smogless managing director, Ing. Gilberto Cominetta, stated that "the state of the art in developing the Skygas technology is such that we are comfortable in designing Skygas plants dealing with adequately pre-treated solid refuse and using the generated gas in a steam boiler in order to generate electricity."
MPML's partners in the Skygas venture include: Xytel Technologies, Mt. Prospect, Ill.; Smogless S.p.A., Milan, Italy (belonging to Laidlaw Group - Canada); and Enprotech Corp., New York, N.Y., a wholly owned subsidiary of Itochu International, formerly C. Itoh & Co. (America) Inc.
