MONEY: WORKERS IN pounds 1.4m BONANZA; Tesco staff share payout.
MORE than 4000 jubilant Tesco staff in Scotland are to share a pounds 1.4million payout.
The bonanza - announced yesterday - is part of a profit-sharing scheme which has seen 100,000 Tesco workers in Britain share pounds 200million in the last year.
Among those who will benefit is father-of-three Martin Cole, 32, manager of the Inverness Metro store.
He said he would take his sons away for the weekend to celebrate and invest the rest.
Mr Cole has used previous handouts to pay his council tax bill.
Tesco is Britain's biggest private sector employer with almost 200,000 workers.
Yesterday, chief executive Terry Leahy said: "The continuing success of the company is entirely down to our people.
"The profit-share scheme is a great way for us to say a big thank you for everyone's hard work."
The payout works out at an average of pounds 318 for each of the 4400 Scots supermarket staff.
