MON MEN ARE OUT ON A LIM.

By PAUL O'HEHIR RODDY COLLINS will field young guns against Limerick tonight.

Monaghan are decimated by injury with Conor McMahon, Gabriel Sava, Aidan Collins, Alan Byrne, John Brennan, Ryan Brennan and Philip Byrne all struggling while Paul Whelan is suspended.

"We haven't had much time to recover from Saturday's game against Longford," said Mons boss Collins.

"This fixture is coming at the wrong time for us as our side is struggling with injury and suspension.

"But every cloud has a silver lining and it will allow me to give many of the younger lads and new signings an opportunity."

Mons - second in the First Division - travel to Limerick on the back of their 3-1 away win over Longford on Saturday.

And Pat Scully's Limerick - three points behind Collins's men in fourth - play host having beaten Wexford Youths 3-2 away on Friday.

Mons required a last minute equaliser at home to Limerick to secure a 1-1 draw in the only League meeting between the teams this year.
