MOMENTUM BOOKS TO RELEASE 'MRS. BOONE'S WILD GAME COOKBOOK'

MOMENTUM BOOKS TO RELEASE 'MRS. BOONE'S WILD GAME COOKBOOK'
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- "What we really need is a good wild game cookbook." That is what a bookseller suggested last year to Bill Haney, president of Momentum Books. As a result of that chance conversation, on Dec. 3 Momentum Books will release "Mrs. Boone's Wild Game Cookbook."
"Anyone who has been in the same kitchen with a passel of chefs and then tasted their soup will agree that too many cooks spoil the broth," said Haney. "But it's just as true that no one cook could ever live long enough or have the imagination and luck to discover the very best recipes for preparing wild game."
With this idea in mind, Momentum Books asked Judith and Edward McGlinn (editors of "The Deer Hunter's Field Guide" by John H. Williams) to compile a book of the best wild game recipes, solicited from friends and outdoorsmen.
"This cookbook is a sampler of favorite recipes from creative and enthusiastic cooks who are comfortable and accomplished in the art of wild game cooking," said Judith McGlinn. These many chefs created the persona of Mrs. Boone.
The cookbook is particularly timely as people become more aware of the health benefits of eating wild game. Collected in the book are delightful recipes for most every type of game -- venison, upland birds, waterfowl, small game and fish.
But this is more than just a cookbook. Mrs. Boone tells the tried- and-true but little-known tricks to capture the special flavors of perfectly prepared wild game. There is a special section that features the just-right accompaniments for any wild game meal or snack. Sprinkled throughout are tidbits of wisdom and advice. And Edward McGlinn provides illustrations to complement the text.
"'Mrs. Boone's Wild Game Cookbook' is an essential companion for all hunters, and those who appreciate well-prepared wild game," said Marcus Haight, master chef of The Lark restaurant. "The cookbook is intriguing to read, and yet these recipes work beautifully."
Books will be available through bookstores nationwide. Orders placed with the publisher, Momentum Books, are filled the day they are received. "Mrs. Boone's Wild Game Cookbook" is available for $12.95. Mail orders to Momentum Books Ltd., 210 Collingwood, Suite 106, Ann Arbor, MI 48103 must be prepaid, including Michigan sales tax and $2.50 for shipping and handling. Orders charged to VISA and MasterCard may be placed by phone, at 1-800-345-0096.
