 AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 NEW YORK, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) today announced that Marshall A. Cohen was elected to its board of directors at the company's annual shareholders' meeting on May 13.
 Cohen is president and chief executive officer of the Molson Companies Limited of Canada. He replaces Michael N. Chetkovich, who chose to retire from the board after 13 years of service.
 Cohen, 57, has been president and chief executive officer of the Molson Companies since 1988. He previously served in senior positions in the Canadian government as deputy minister of finance, deputy minister of energy, mines and resources, and deputy minister of industry, trade and commerce. He is a former partner with the Toronto law firm of Goodman and Carr, and received his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto.
 Molson is a diversified Canadian public corporation with interests in brewing, specialty chemicals and retailing. Its brewing interest, Molson Breweries, is Canada's largest brewer. Molson has extensive international business operations.
 Cohen has been a member of AIG's International advisory board for several years. This board, composed of business and other leaders from around the world, advises AIG management on worldwide political and economic issues and trends.

Its member companies write property, casualty, marine, life and financial services insurance in approximately 130 countries and jurisdictions, and are engaged in a range of financial services businesses.
