MODEL Jodie Kidd has traced her family's routes back to Newcastle for the BBC1 series Who Do You Think You Are?

Kidd, who hit the headlines in December over allegations that she obtained cocaine worth pounds 150 for undercover reporters, is in the fifth series despite reports that the BBC might drop her.

The model's great-grandparents on both sides of the family were awarded titles.

Kidd comes to the North East to discover more about her mother's grandfather, the mysterious Sir Rowland Hodge, a Newcastle shipbuilder, and she uncovers an early 20th Century political scandal.

A BBC spokesman said: "Jodie Kidd has got a fantastic family history which we are sure our viewers will enjoy finding out about."

The fifth series will be broadcast in the summer and also features Holby City star Patsy Kensit.
