MOBILECOMM INTRODUCES THE NEXT GENERATION OF MESSAGING SOFTWARE

JACKSON, Miss., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileComm, one of America's leading paging companies, recently announced the release of the next generation of MobileComm Messaging Software (MMS) which will provide an unprecedented degree of text messaging simplicity and ease.
Like the original MMS currently available, this software is used to send alphanumeric messages from a personal computer to MobileComm Nationwide and local paging systems. The redeveloped software, available for IBM compatible PCs and MacIntosh computers, offers several advantages over the earlier MMS version and similar software on the market.
Among those benefits are: its compatibility with DOS, Windows and MacIntosh operating systems, whereas the earlier MMS was only available for DOS; a user interface which is graphical rather than text only; provided mouse support; an increased number of COM ports (DOS, Windows), up from two to four; the 800 number customers can call to get free assistance with any technical problem they have installing or using the software; and, MMS allows subscribers to control telecommunications costs by providing a single connection to the paging network for the transmission of multiple messages.
Steve Burdette, vice president of Nationwide Messaging for MobileComm, said this is software designed with the end user in mind. "MMS was developed from the standpoint that all three versions -- DOS, Windows and MacIntosh -- are consistent in look and feel, so our customers can move easily from one to the other. It also offers a much improved user interface, oriented not only for keyboard input, but also for a mouse or trackball. And it's accessible through a wide range of Hayes compatible modems."
Burdette points out that existing users of the current DOS-only MMS do not have to upgrade. "However, they may wish to upgrade if they want to take advantage of the extended COM ports, mouse/trackball capability or if they are having trouble using one of the more advanced high powered modems."
Suggested retail price for the new MMS in the DOS, Windows or MacIntosh versions is $29.95. Burdette said the software brings the highest level of flexibility to text messaging users of today as well as those of tomorrow. "The new MMS software will allow for growth as we expand our services, and forms the basis from which future software will grow."
