MOBILE CONCESSIONS.

The Government of Honduras will be assigning 2 new concessions for mobile telephony. The concessions are planned for 2 of 5 frequency bands (B Band in 800 MHz; 900 MHz; or, the 3 PCS bands on 1900 MHz that can also be operated with GSM technology, with the possibility of assigning the bands on 1800 MHz). To prequalify, an unrealistically tight deadline of April 23, 2002 was given. The deadline for submitting prequalification documents was also very tight: May 02, 2002. The winner will be determined after consultations with the prequalified firms. Despite the deadline, interested companies may wish to seek further information for future reference. Details: Mr. Dante Mossi, National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel). Tel. (504) 234-8600, Fax: (504) 234-8611, E-mail: dmossi@conatel.hn, or visit the website at www.conatel.hn.
