MOBIL TO RECEIVE HARBOR ASSOCIATION AWARD LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Local business and political
leaders will meet for a reception and dinner at the San Pedro Sheraton this evening to honor Mobil Oil Corporation with the Salute to Industry Award of the Harbor Association of Industry and Commerce. The association has conferred this award annually since 1979, and is recognizing Mobil tonight for the company's active role in the South Coast and harbor industrial community and commitment to the progress and economic vigor of Southern California.
The Harbor Association of Industry and Commerce serves as a voice for industry on such issues as energy, environmental legislation, and land-use regulation in the South Coast area and promotes the orderly development of commerce and industry there. It provides an interface between business and local, state, and federal political leaders, many of whom attend this annual award dinner. Accepting the award for Mobil is David R. Hayward, vice president, supply and transportation, in Mobil's U.S. Marketing & Refining Division. In Hayward's remarks he states: "We are hoping to sign a new lease soon with the Port of Los Angeles for our marine facility on Terminal Island, and we look forward to continuing and enhancing Mobil's long and mutually-beneficial relationship with the City of Los Angeles in the harbor area." Hayward's responsibilities include Mobil Oil's West Coast Pipe Lines, which manages the terminal facility in the harbor and is currently replacing its crude oil pipeline through the South Coast area. -0- 11/15/91 /CONTACT: James A.
