MOBIL CONTRIBUTES $300,000 TO AID HURRICANE VICTIMS
FAIRFAX, Va., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobil Corporation today

announced contributions of $300,000 to aid victims of Hurricane Andrew. In addition, the company said it will provide special payment arrangements for Mobil credit card customers affected by the hurricane.
The Mobil grants were made to the American Red Cross ($200,000) and the Louisiana Disaster Relief Account ($100,000). The company said its contribution to the Red Cross was in addition to a $200,000 grant it made to replenish that agency's Disaster Relief Fund just weeks before Hurricane Andrew struck.
"Our hearts go out to all the people who have lost so much," said Mobil Chairman Allen E. Murray. "We hope our efforts help to ease the suffering of the victims of this tragic disaster."
Mobil is a major gasoline marketer in Florida, especially in the area of Dade County, which was hit hard by the storm. Mobil's employees in Florida have already collected and distributed 15 truckloads of supplies to victims of the hurricane. The company has also been supplying truck fuel for a number of private voluntary efforts.
