MME Closes Financing for New Ethanol Plant in MO.

Mid-Missouri Energy (MME), a farmer-owned cooperative, recently announced it has closed financing for its $60-million ethanol production plant in Saline County, MO. MME noted that Mankato, MN-based AgStar Financial Services is the primary lender for the project.

"Area farmers have done something amazing and remarkable in mid-Missouri," said MME president Ryland Utlaut. "In only 10 and one-half months, this Mid-Missouri board of farmers has taken us from telling our story to anyone who would listen at some 100-plus meetings to a fully funded project, financing documents signed and construction underway."

According to MME, the new plant is expected to process nearly 15 million bushels of corn into 40 million gallons of ethanol per year. MME said plant construction is scheduled to be completed in March 2005.
