MK RECEIVES CONTRACT FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION-MANAGEMENT OF CALIFORNIA LANDFILL PROJECT

 BOISE, Idaho, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Morrison Knudsen Corp. (MK) (NYSE: MRN) announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the Mine Reclamation Corporation for design and construction-management services at the Eagle Mountain Landfill and Recycling Center in Southern California. Construction is expected to begin early in 1995, with a total site value of more than $100 million.

 MK's Environmental & Government Group will execute this contract which will include the final design and construction management of the Eagle Mountain Railroad, Eagle Mountain Road, a landfill containment system, environmental monitoring systems, and on-site facilities, roads and utilities. Morrison Knudsen has the full-service capability to manage all aspects of environmental and waste management programs, with a complete integration of scientific, engineering, procurement and construction activities.
