MIXED WARDS TO BE CLOSED.

HEALTH chiefs have declared victory in the long fight to get rid of mixed-sex wards, insisting they would all be gone within four months.

Thirteen hospital Trusts in Merseyside and North Cheshire are among 200 across England that have spent pounds 100m putting in new toilets, bathrooms and bays to separate male and female patients.

The cash, which was handed out in April, has also paid for security doors, 'women-only'' lounges and for the reglazing of windows with frosted glass.
