MITSUBISHI MOTORS EXECUTIVE TO DISCUSS TRADE RESTRICTIONS
AT MOTOR PRESS GUILD MEETING, JUNE 11
So, everyone thought communism was dead. What if the government decided to restrict sales not only of import cars, but of cars built in the United States by foreign manufacturers? Sound like a command economy? It's all part of House Bill 5100 now under consideration by the United States Congress.
Richard Recchia, vice president and chief operating officer of Mitsubishi Motor Sales, will address this pending legislation at the June meeting of Motor Press Guild, 11:30 a.m., Thursday, June 11 at the Proud Bird Restaurant in El Segundo. The meeting is open to all members of the media.
Recchia, who has become a spokesman for foreign auto manufacturers in trade matters, will also discuss other political and economic developments affecting both the domestic and import automobile industries.
The Motor Press Guild is a professional organization of automotive journalists. Its regular meetings are held the second Thursday of every month at the Proud Bird, 11022 Aviation Blvd., El Segundo. They feature major automotive industry executives as well as other speakers who are of interest to the automotive community. The cost of attending is $14 for members, $20 for non-members.
