MITSUBISHI MOTOR SALES OF AMERICA INC. ANNOUNCES PRICING
FOR 1993 MIRAGE COUPE AND FOUR-DOOR SEDAN
CYPRESS, Calif., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc. (MMSA) today announced pricing for its 1993 Mirage Coupe and Mirage four-door sedan. The sporty two-door coupe will be offered at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $7,649, while the contemporary styled four-door sedan will start at $9,439. Both Mirages are expected to enter dealer showrooms in late August.
"The all-new Mirage Coupe and four-door sedan were designed to meet the growing needs of young, active consumers who want stylish cars without the heavy price," said Kevin Ormes, MMSA's vice president of sales. "Both Mirages offer a refreshing new exterior style with a spacious interior that was built to offer more room than most competitors in their respective segments."
The stylish and sporty Mirage Coupe provides responsive handling with a refreshing exterior design. Equipped with a 1.5-liter, four- cylinder engine that produces 92 bhp at 6,000 rpm, four-wheel independent suspension and a new multilink rear suspension design, Mirage Coupe is available in three trim levels: Mirage S, Mirage ES ($8,939) and Mirage LS ($10,299).
The handsome and spacious Mirage four-door sedan is also available in three trim levels and offers a choice of two engines. The entry-level Mirage S sedan is powered by the same 1.5-liter powerplant of the Mirage Coupe, while the other four-door trim levels feature a more powerful 1.8-liter, single overhead-cam engine that produces 113 bhp at 6,000 rpm.
The mid-level Mirage ES will be offered at an MSRP of $10,479 and is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, rack-and-pinion power-assisted steering and front disc brakes with rear drum brakes. The top-line Mirage LS will start at $12,079 and is equipped with cruise control, ETR AM/FM cassette stereo with four speakers, power windows and locks, dual color-keyed power mirrors and tinted glass. Mitsubishi's 4-wheel disc anti-lock braking system (ABS), air conditioning and a four-speed, electronically controlled automatic transmission are options.
All Mitsubishi Mirage models also incorporate environmental automotive engineering, such as use of recyclable components and asbestos-free materials.
