MITCHELL INTERNATIONAL TO MARKET TRIAD'S PARTS AND LABOR DATABASE
LIVERMORE, Calif., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Triad Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: TRSC) and Mitchell International have announced their agreement to have Mitchell marketing representatives offer Triad's ServiceCat estimating system to the automotive service industry.
Mitchell representatives will market the ServiceCat system in conjunction with the Mitchell On-Demand(TM) Computerized Repair Information System to more than 250,000 automotive repair outlets in the United States. Because the Triad and Mitchell databases and software are compatible, service technicians will access both databases on the same hardware platform. The ServiceCat system combines Triad's proprietary parts catalog database and Quicklist software with the Mitchell mechanical repair labor database.
"Our experience with service technicians clearly indicates their desire for the parts and labor information in automated form, but without the expense of additional hardware," said Ken Young, vice president -- Repair Sales Operations at Mitchell International. "Combining the Mitchell On-Demand system with the Triad ServiceCat system creates an affordable solution to a major industry need. Shops will now have all the information they need to diagnose a problem, estimate parts and labor costs, order parts and repair the problem, on one platform."
Integration of Mitchell's labor databases with Triad's Electronic Catalog database of more than 1.9 million automotive parts and prices led to Triad's introduction last December of its ServiceCat workstation product, the company's initial major offering for the automotive repair segment.
"The market's reception of the ServiceCat workstation has been well above our expectations and continues to grow," said Shane Gorman, vice president and general manger of Triad's Automotive Division. "Combining our product with Mitchell's is a logical step that should make both even more attractive."
