Underwear is packing out the shops...as OUTERWEAR. Little chiffon slips and skimpy, lingerie-style dresses have been every designer's choice this season. But if the ultra-sheer look is more than you can bare, you can go for the more structured designs to be found in lingerie departments.

And if even they are too daring, high street stores have plenty of slip- style dresses to choose from. Here CARAGH McKAY gives her verdicts on six...

Reminiscent of 1950s Hollywood starlet style, this slip offers designer looks for a mere fraction of the price. Excellent choice.

The well-structured design gives all- over good support and would cause a stir in or out of the bedroom.
