 MINORU AKIMOTO NAMED PRESIDENT AND CEO
 OF TIME WARNER ENTERTAINMENT JAPAN
 NEW YORK, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX) announced today that C. Itoh, executive vice president and Director Minoru Akimoto will become president and chief executive officer of Time Warner Entertainment Japan.

Mr. Akimoto has won the respect of his colleagues throughout the world in several industries. His industry knowledge and contacts will be extremely valuable as Time Warner Entertainment Japan sets out to become the leading fully- integrated Japanese entertainment company," said Steven J. Ross, Time Warner chairman and co-CEO and Gerald M. Levin, president and co-CEO.
 Time Warner Entertainment Japan is being created to expand and develop new entertainment business opportunities in Japan. Warner Bros.' existing businesses in Japan, which include home video distribution, theatrical film and television distribution and merchandising businesses, will also be part of Time Warner Entertainment Japan. Time Warner Entertainment Japan will be 50 percent owned by Time Warner Inc.; Toshiba and C. Itoh will each own 25 percent.
 Time Warner Entertainment Japan will be a subventure of the Time Warner Entertainment limited partnership, comprising Warner Bros., HBO and the Time Warner Cable businesses. Time Warner Entertainment will be 87-1/2 percent owned by Time Warner.
 Partners Toshiba and C.Itoh will each own 6-1/4 percent. The closing of Time Warner Entertainment is scheduled to occur on or about June 30, 1992. Akimoto is currently executive vice president and director of C. Itoh. During his more than 35 years with C. Itoh, his senior level responsibilities included developing new businesses on four continents North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. His global experience and strategic vision made him a strong proponent of Time Warner Entertainment and its subventure, Time Warner Entertainment Japan. Akimoto played a key role in the creation of these ventures.
 Akimoto has a B.A. in economics from Yamaguchi University (1953) and a M.A. in economics from Michigan State University (1955). He lives in Tokyo.
