MINORITY BUSINESS ADVISORY BOARD FORMED

 GREENVILLE, S.C., Nov. 24 ~PRNewswire~ -- A Minority Business Advisory Board will assist Fluor Daniel in determining and communicating opportunities for minority-owned businesses to compete for contracted goods and services from Fluor Daniel for its BMW construction project in Greer, S.C.
 The seven-member board, to be chaired by Oscar Prioleau, director of employee relations, of Fluor Daniel, will recommend qualified minority- and~or women-owned businesses for the construction project which is scheduled to begin in the spring of 1993.
 Other board members are John McCarroll of the NAACP; Merl Code (vice chairman) of the Urban League; Adrene Wright, of the governor's office; Yvonne Simpson of the Greenville area; Rudolph Gordon of the Greer area; and Cheryl Halston of the Spartanburg area.
 "We recognize that providing opportunities for minority businesses in the BMW construction project supports our local and state economy," said Prioleau, in announcing the plan.
 The board will work with local and state businesses, organizations and communities to inform minority-owned businesses of opportunities available during the construction of the BMW project. It will assist Fluor Daniel in developing and maintaining a list of qualified minority businesses.
 "The board will also make its list of minority businesses available to major trade contract bidders to encourage their utilization as sub-tier subcontractors on the large work packages," Prioleau continued.
 Prioleau said that Fluor Daniel's intention is to assemble a comprehensive portfolio of qualified minority businesses and encourage their participation wherever possible in the BMW project.
