MINNESOTA TRADE OFFICE RELEASES EVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DIRECTORY
ST. PAUL, Minn., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Minnesota is the leading national resource for environmental protection equipment, instrumentation and services according to the Environmental Protection Directory, a publication recently released by the Minnesota Trade Office.
The Environmental Protection Directory is the most comprehensive list of Minnesota environmental protection and pollution abatement firms ever compiled in the state. The list, which included more than 200 companies and 12 auxiliary organizations, will be used to promote the industry in international markets.
"Minnesota has long recognized the importance of our environment in the shaping of our quality of life," said George Crolick, executive director of the Minnesota Trade Office. "The state's commitment to preserve its beautiful and bountiful natural resources has helped it become one of the leaders in the field of environmental protection in the United States."
According to the directory, approximately 50 percent of the state's environmental protection businesses are engaged in consulting and engineering, another 25 percent are employed in equipment manufacturing and consulting/engineering services. The majority of Minnesota companies are involved in water purification/filtration and air emissions followed by solid and hazardous waste management.
The Minnesota Trade Office, a division of the Minnesota Department of Trade and Economic Development, is the state office that assists small- and medium-sized businesses to compete in international markets. The MTO provides businesses with export counseling and assistance, education and training to increase their export opportunities and export finance assistance.
