MINNESOTA MUTUAL ANNOUNCES A.M. BEST RATING
ST. PAUL, Minn., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Minnesota Mutual announces

that A.M. Best has raised its rating from A+ to A++ Superior, Best's highest category.
"Our A++ rating from Best's serves as an affirmation of Minnesota Mutual's inherent strengths," said Coleman Bloomfield, chairman of the board and chief executive officer. "Combined with our Aa1 rating from Moody's and AA+ from S&P, our rating underscores our sound financial position and distinguishes Minnesota Mutual from the vast majority of insurance companies."
This year Best's introduced an expanded rating structure designed to make finer distinctions between categories and reduce consumer confusion about their ratings. The new structure increased the number of ratings from nine to 15 and established a two-tier Superior category comprised of A+ and A++.
One hundred and eleven year-old Minnesota Mutual is also rated AA+ by Standard and Poor's and Aa1 by Moody's Investors Services. With $103 billion of insurance in force, Minnesota Mutual ranks among the top 1 percent of insurance companies in the United States. The company serves more than eight million people nationwide.
