MILLER NAMED VICE PRESIDENT FOR PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT AT THE DETROIT NEWSPAPER AGENCY

 DETROIT, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Randy Miller has been appointed vice president for Planning and Development at the Detroit Newspaper Agency according to President and Chief Operating Officer Frank Vega. Miller, 40, has served as director of Quality, Training and Customer Programs for the agency since November 1992. Prior to then he had been deputy managing editor for the Detroit Free Press for six years.
 In making the announcement, Vega said, "As director of Quality, Training and Customer Service Programs, Miller has addressed our immediate needs well. In his new role we look for him to take these programs to new levels and more effectively coordinate planning and developmental programs at the agency."
 Before joining the Free Press in 1986, Miller spent five years at the Denver Post, and also worked at the St. Louis Post Dispatch and the Kansas City Star. Early in his journalism career he owned a weekly newspaper in Marceline, Mo.
 Miller received his undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Missouri at Columbia. He is married and has two children.
