 MILLER AGREEMENT WITH MAGIC JOHNSON TO INCLUDE
 CONTRIBUTION TO AIDS AWARENESS
 MILWAUKEE, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Miller Brewing Company today announced it has signed an agreement with Earvin "Magic" Johnson to serve as a spokesperson for promotional programs and community relations activities.
 The agreement with the Olympian and former Los Angeles Lakers star also includes a $500,000 contribution by the company to AIDS awareness, education and support services programs and a number of personal appearances by Johnson on the AIDS issue in selected markets.
 "We are both enthusiastic and proud to be associated with a person with the courage, character and tremendous popular appeal of Magic Johnson," said Miller President and Chief Executive Officer Warren H. Dunn. "We strongly support Magic's commitment to AIDS awareness, education and practical care. Miller is proud to join with Magic Johnson to take a leadership role on this issue."
 Dunn said the contribution and agreement with Johnson underscored a commitment to AIDS research and awareness by Miller and its parent Philip Morris Companies Inc. (NYSE: MO).
 Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Miller officials said more specific information on Johnson's appearances in promotional programs will be announced in the coming months.
 Miller is a wholly owned subsidiary of Philip Morris Companies Inc. Principal beer brands include Miller Lite, Miller Genuine Draft, Miller Genuine Draft Light, Miller High Life, Lowenbrau, Meister Brau, Magnum and Milwaukee's Best. Miller also produces Sharp's, a non-alcohol brew.
