ARMED FORCES

Army Pvt. Christian J. Schwartz, son of Stacy Wheeler of Fitchburg and Bruce Schwartz of Dover, N.H., has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Air Force Reserve Airman Ronald C. Geronimo, son of Cynthia Geronimo of Leominster and Ronald Pascual of Bergenfield, N.J., has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Army Pvt. Michael A. Thomas, son of Tracy and Troy Thomas of Northbridge, has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Seamen Apprentice Matthew Marshall, son of David Marshall of Worcester and Theresa Hicks of Uxbridge, has graduated from United States Navy basic training at the Great Lakes Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill. He will attend training in Pensacola, Fla.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Matthew J. Lapeikis, son of Paul Lepeikis of Shrewsbury, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Air Force Airman Anita K. Overstreet, daughter of Larry Overstreet Jr. of Hubbardston and Stephanie Whitley of Salisbury, N.C., has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Air Force Airman Luke A. Mapplebeck, son of Tom Mapplebeck of Sturbridge, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Air Force Reserve Airman Safire L. Danastor, daughter of Patrick Louis-Jean of Millbury, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

VETERANS NOTES

TODAY

Veterans of Foreign Wars District 8 will meet at 2 p.m. at 2 School St., at East Main St., Shrewsbury. MONDAY

Leominster AMVETS Post 38 will meet at 7 p.m. in the Veterans Center, 100 West St., Leominster.

Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Willie Grout Camp 25 will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Air National Guard, 50 Skyline Drive, Worcester.

TUESDAY

Military Appreciation Day will be held at the Marlboro Country Club, 200 Concord Road, Marlboro. All military and their families are allowed to golf for free. For more information email agarcia@marlboroughcc.com. To register contact the business office at (508) 485-1660, extension 10, Monday through Friday, or the Pro Shop at (508) 485-1660, extension 4, Monday through Sunday.

WEDNESDAY

Southworks Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3657 will meet at 6 p.m. at the post quarters, 1088 Millbury St., old Ballard St., Worcester. The executive board will meet at 5:30 p.m.

THURSDAY

The Annual Veterans Round Table sponsored by the Gardner Museum and Gardner VFW will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Gardner VFW, 176 West St., Gardner. This program is free. For more information call (978) 632-3277.

The Millbury Veterans Council will meet at 7 p.m. in the Millbury Municipal Office Building, 127 Elm St. Final plans and dates will be available concerning the council's participation in the observance of Veterans Day at the Millbury schools. The schedule for the removal of veterans flags from town cemeteries following Veterans Day will also be discussed. On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. the First Congregational Church, 148 West Main St., Millbury, invites all Millbury veterans to a patriotic program that will include a concert and a tribute to past and present veterans. The council is open to all honorably discharged veterans including active military personnel and welcomes new members.
