MILACRON TO PROCEED WITH LIQUIDATION OF HEALD GRINDING MACHINE BUSINESS

 MILACRON TO PROCEED WITH LIQUIDATION
 OF HEALD GRINDING MACHINE BUSINESS
CINCINNATI, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Cincinnati Milacron Inc. (NYSE: CMZ) said today that it is unable to find a satisfactory buyer for its Heald grinding machine business and, as previously announced, will continue phasing out operations at the Heald plant in Worcester, Mass.
As part of a consolidation plan announced in September, 1991, the company began the transfer of its centerless grinding machine product lines from Worcester to Cincinnati and affirmed its intention to dispose of the remaining Heald businesses. The product-line transfer has been completed, and the 1991 plan provided for the cost of the subsequent liquidation. These actions, therefore, are expected to have no material effect on Milacron's 1992 sales or earnings.
Milacron will fulfill all customer commitments and orders currently in backlog and will continue to produce service and parts from Cincinnati on an ongoing basis for all Heald products.
Cincinnati Milacron, with 1991 sales of $754 million, is a leading producer of machine tools, plastics machinery, computer controls, precision grinding wheels and metalworking fluids.
