MIDLAND: Gun death charge.

Police last night charged a man with the murder of a 20-year-old man whose body was found on a grass verge almost four years ago.

Kevin Nunis was found with multiple gunshot wounds on a grass verge in Pattingham, Staffordshire, near Wolverhampton, on September 19 2002.

A 24-year-old man, from the Wolverhampton area, was arrested in Heath Town on Thursday in a joint operation between Staffordshire and West Midlands Police.

He was charged with the shooting after police were granted an extra 12 hours to question him. He will appear before Magistrates in Burtonon- Trent this morning.

Jamaican-born Mr Nunes's body was found on a grass verge in Clive Road but his murder baffled detectives, who looked to colleagues around the country for help to identify his killer.
