MIDISOFT REPORTS SECOND QUARTER AND SIX MONTH RESULTS

REDMOND, Wash., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Midisoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MIDI) today reported substantially increased revenues and earnings for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 1993. The company, an emerging leader in music software technology, went public on July 19.
Second quarter revenues grew to $454,000, a 76-percent increase from $258,000 recorded in the second quarter of 1992. Net income more than tripled to $36,000, or 2 cents per share, from $10,000 and break-even on a per-share basis in last year's quarter.
For the six months, revenues were $843,000, up 72 percent from $492,000 in the comparable year-ago period. Net income jumped to $81,000, or 4 cents per share, from $2,400 and break-even on a per-share basis in the first half of 1992.
"Revenue growth for the quarter and the half was due to increases in products licensed to original equipment manufacturers," said Raymond Bily, chairman and chief executive officer. "On June 30, we shipped our first major upgrade to 'Studio for Windows,' our flagship product, and it has been well received.
"Interest in multimedia is expanding rapidly," Bily added, "and Midisoft will introduce several new products this year and next to meet the needs of this growing market."
Midisoft Corp. develops and markets music software for the Microsoft Windows programs and multimedia applications markets. The company focuses on developing music software and applying MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) standards to add music to a variety of Windows environments and to link musical instruments to personal computers.
