MICROPROSE ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES

 HUNT VALLEY, MD., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroProse, Inc. (NASDAQ: MPRS), a worldwide developer of entertainment software, today announced a number of management and operational changes to focus extra management resources on product scheduling and profitability.
 Ronald J. Bueche, vice president and corporate controller, has been named vice president and chief financial officer of MicroProse, Inc. Mr. Bueche has been MicroProse's controller for the past three years and was vice president and corporate controller since the company's initial public offering. Mr. Bueche succeeds James W. Thomas, who has accepted a position as chief operating officer of ?non-competitive company in California.
 Since the company's public offering in October of 1991, MicroProse has ambitiously geared up for the new opportunities in interactive entertainment software markets including PC, 16-bit video games, CD-Rom, and new formats like 3DO(TM). The company has now instituted specific operational and management changes to focus on taking full advantage of these growth opportunities in the markets for interactive entertainment software products while focusing on the profitability of each project.
 Operationally, the company has instituted a new software planning and management system, and a new development bonus and salary review system which focuses on lifetime product costs, schedule accuracy, and sales accomplishment in order to encourage each product team to assume their own entrepreneurial focus. MicroProse has also made the following management changes to implement and manage these system changes:
 -- Tony Parks, who has been with MicroProse since March 1990 and has in the past been director of Software-U.S., has been named vice president of development for the U.S. Video Game Division and will oversee the development of products for all current 16-bit video game platforms, such as the Super NES(TM) and the Sega(TM) Genesis(TM), and for all future video game formats.
 -- Raymond Rutledge, a 30-year veteran of software development as a contractor for the Department of Defense, has been named vice president of development for the U.S. Personal Computer Division, and will oversee the development of PC-based products.
 MicroProse is a worldwide publisher of entertainment software for personal computers and video game machines with operations in the United States, Europe, and Japan. The company publishes software for PC compatible, Macintosh, NEC 9801, and Commodore Amiga computers, as well as Nintendo(R) and Sega 16-bit video game systems.
