 MICRON SEMICONDUCTOR INC. ANNOUNCES PATENT INFRINGEMENT COMPLAINT
 AGAINST HYUNDAI AND GOLDSTAR
 BOISE, Idaho, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Micron Semiconductor Inc. today announced that it has filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission for patent infringement against Hyundai Electronics Industries Co. Ltd.; Hyundai Electronics America Inc.; Goldstar Electron Co. Ltd; and Goldstar Electron America Inc. The action has been brought under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended, 19 U.S.C. Section 1337.
 The action involves U.S. Patent 4,436,584, entitled "Anisotropic Plasma Etching of Semiconductors," owned by Micron Semiconductor Inc. The patent relates to the plasma etching of semiconductor materials in fine geometry devices such as 1 megabit and higher density dynamic random access memory components (DRAMs).
 The action charges the Hyundai and Goldstar defendants with importing and selling DRAMs made using the patented invention without permission or license from Micron. The complaint requests that the defendants' infringing DRAMs be excluded from import and sale in the United States.
 Micron Semiconductor Inc. manufactures and markets commercial and military DRAMs, fast SRAMs and other semiconductor products. The company is a subsidiary of Micron Technology Inc. (NYSE: MU), whose common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange Inc. (NYSE) under the symbol MU.
