MICRON BUNDLES SPEAKER SYSTEM WITH MILLENNIA DESKTOP PC'S.

Creative Technology Ltd. (Nasdaq: CREAF), a provider of multimedia solutions for personal entertainment, has announced that Micron Electronics, Inc., (Nasdaq: MUEI), a direct vendor of personal computer systems, is now bundling the DeskTop Theater 5.1 DTT2500 Digital speaker system with its Millennia MAX series Desktop Systems. Designed by Creative's wholly-owned subsidiary, Cambridge SoundWorks, the DeskTop Theater 5.1 DTT2500 Digital speaker system is a high-output, high-performance, digital home theater system for use with PCs or conventional TVs. The DTT2500 Digital delivers powerful Dolby Digital 5.1 multi-channel sound on movies from a PC-DVD or DVD player and enhances 3D positional audio in games or music.

Based on the FourPointSurround FPS2000 Digital and DeskTop Theater 5.1, the DTT2500 Digital offers Dolby Digital Processing through the S/PDIF output of select Millennia Max systems. It can be a companion for both PC-DVD movies and Environmental Audio games.

"As more people begin to embrace personal entertainment using their PCs, multi-channel speaker systems will become a standard peripheral for many users," comments John Troutman, vice president of OEM Sales and Marketing at Creative. "We are excited that Micron selected the DTT2500 system for the Millennia MAX series Desktop PC's. Their customers will experience phenomenal performance and sound quality at an exceptional value -- a combination many users have come to expect from a Cambridge SoundWorks product."

The DeskTop Theater 5.1 DTT2500 Digital system can automatically decode the Dolby Surround digital audio/video footage found in many of today's best selling DVD-based action games, enveloping the listener in positional, 5.1 channel audio. In addition, the DTT2500 system offers Creative Multi Speaker Surround, a new and innovative feature designed by Creative. This exclusive feature allows the user to experience surround sound audio from monophonic or stereophonic source material not originally encoded for surround sound. With CMSS, the user can enjoy the benefits of 5.1 surround sound audio with all games, music or movies.

"We're excited to be offering our customers a comprehensive and flexible 5.1 surround sound system," states Jeff Moeser, vice president of desktop and server development for Micron Electronics, Inc. "Not only does DTT2500 system deliver exceptional Dolby Digital home theater audio, it's a terrific system for hard-core gaming and music listening applications as well."

Additional Features and Benefits

-- A decoder amplifier, with built-in 24-bit Digital-To-Analog Converter, has separate inputs for SPDIF (AC-3) Dolby Digital, Creative's four-channel Digital DIN input, and analog stereo front and rear channels for use with DVD movies, Environmental Audio and DirectSound 3D games;

-- Compact, height-adjustable floor stands allow for "discretionary" placement and repositioning, fitting easily to the side or underneath a desk for optimum listening;

-- A subwoofer provides room-shaking bass, and an additional subwoofer line out may be connected to a powered subwoofer such as a Cambridge SoundWorks' BassCube for increased bass.
