Like all Microcom modems with MNP 10, the DeskPorte gets connected and stays connected at the highest speeds.
"Our new prices reflect Microcom's desire to make higher performance, more feature rich and robust modems available to a broader range of customers," said Greg Tompkins, Microcom director of product planning and marketing for modems.
"Customers are making much more educated buying decisions than ever before. Now, instead of just purchasing the least expensive modem, buyers are analyzing the overall operational cost of using their modems, including dial charges and personal productivity. With the growing mobile PC user market, the increasing use of Windows and greater demand for dial-up LAN connectivity, users are realizing the need for faster and more reliable modems. The new prices provide customers broader access to reliable communications and a way of stepping up to Microcom's MNP 10 high performance modems," added Tompkins.
Every Microcom modem incorporates MNP 10 (Microcom Networking Protocol Class 10) technology which allows users to establish and maintain reliable high speed dial connections when other modems cannot. This provides users with the ability to increase PC productivity as well as reduce modem line costs. In environments where dial line conditions dynamicallytm) and QX(tm) high-speed portable and desktop modems, Carbon Copy(tm) remote communications software, Microcom Bridge/Router(tm) remote internetworking products and LANlord(R) desktop management software for LANs.
