MICROCARB NAMES VACCINE ADVISORY BOARD

 GAITHERSBURG, Md., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The appointment of a Vaccine Advisory Board composed of leading clinicians and scientists in the fields of microbiology and infectious disease was announced today by V.M. Esposito, Ph.D., chairman and chief executive officer of MicroCarb Inc. (NASDAQ: CARB, CARBU and CARBW).
 The board is composed of:
 -- Joseph A. Bellanti, M.D., professor of medicine and director of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of Immunology and director of the Division of Immunology and Virology, Georgetown University, Washington. Bellanti is president-elect of the Association of Medical Laboratory Immunologists.
 -- Robert E. Black, M.D., M.P.H., chairman of the Department of International Health and associate director of the Institute for International Programs at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. Black's work in the research and treatment of infectious diseases is internationally recognized.
 -- John David Clements, Ph.D., professor of microbiology and immunology, Tulane University, New Orleans. Clements' research has concentrated on gastro-intestinal diseases. He is currently acting dean, Academic Affairs.
 -- Phillip D. Smith, M.D., professor of medicine and microbiology and senior scientist, Center for AIDS Research, University of Alabama School of Medicine, Birmingham, Ala. Smith specializes in internal medicine and gastroenterology and previously was a senior investigator at the National Institutes of Health.
 -- Carol O. Tacket, M.D., associate professor of medicine, Center for Vaccine Development, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore. Tacket is a specialist in epidemiology, pathogenesis, immune responses to enteric infections and AIDS vaccine development.
 "The board will help guide the company's strategies for selection and clinical development of vaccines," Esposito said.
