MICHIGAN LAWYERS, JUDGES SLATE 'A TRIBUTE TO THURGOOD MARSHALL' FOR THURSDAY, FEB. 25, IN DETROIT

 LANSING, Mich., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan's lawyers and judges will honor the late United States Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall at a commemorative program on Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Wayne State University Community Arts Auditorium, beginning with a reception at 5 p.m.
 United States District Court Judge Damon J. Keith will chair the tribute to Justice Marshall, which is sponsored by the Wolverine Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Association of Black Judges of Michigan, and the Detroit, Federal, Hamilton and Straker bar associations. A candlelight processional by Michigan judges at 6 p.m. will begin the formal program, which will include remarks by Judge Keith and other national and local civic leaders and members of the legal profession (note to editors: see following program).
 Detroit Mayor Coleman A. Young has proclaimed Feb. 25 as Thurgood Marshall Day in the city of Detroit.
