MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH TO HOLD ITS 43RD ANNUAL DIRECTOR'S CONFERENCE FEB. 9-11

 LANSING, Mich., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Michigan Department of Public Health (MDPH) will hold its 43rd Annual Director's Conference on Tuesday, Feb. 9-Thursday, Feb. 11, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn, Mich.
 The three-day conference, "Healthy Controversies: Policies and Systems in Evolution," will focus on new ways of organizing the health care delivery system in anticipation of health care reform. The conference will feature keynote addresses by several prominent health care professionals, including: Stuart Altman, a health care reform adviser to President Clinton; Alain C. Enthoven, a Stanford University economist and principal architect of managed competition; Lawrence S. Lewin, chairman, Lewin-VHI, Inc.; Ellen Morrison, associate director for Health Care Institute for the Future; Marc J. Roberts, Ph.D., professor, Political Economy and Health Policy, Harvard University School of Public Health; and State Public Health Director Vernice Davis Anthony.
 The conference will also feature seven plenary sessions, an interactive computer technology audience survey, breakfast roundtable discussions, 10 concurrent workshops on the implications of regional health systems, and the 14th annual local public health and nursing awards ceremony.
