MICHIGAN BELL OFFERS NEW BILL PAYMENT OPTIONS

DETROIT, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Paying phone bills got easier today, as Michigan Bell launched Ameritech Automatic Bill Payment and Ameritech Charge-By-Phone -- services that let customers pay their phone bills either by credit card or with a direct debit from their checking accounts.
"These are two brand-new ways we're making bill paying safer, simpler, more convenient and less costly," said Bob Cooper, Michigan Bell director of marketing and business development.
Customers save money normally spent on stamps, envelopes, checks or trips to payment centers, Cooper said.
