 MICHIGAN BELL EXECUTIVE TO MOVE TO NEW ZEALAND
 DETROIT, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Don Vangilder, Michigan Bell's vice


president of large business markets, has been named managing director of the Wellington Region Operating Co. of New Zealand Telecom.
 New Zealand Telecom is partially owned by Ameritech, Michigan Bell's parent company.
 Judd Wellard, Michigan Bell's general manager of residence marketing, will succeed Vangilder.
 Chuck Hempfling, general manager of switching, will succeed Wellard.
 Greg Dunny, director of program implementation and billing operations, will succeeed Hempfling.
 Vangilder, a 55-year-old Detroit native, will serve as chief executive officer of the New Zealand Telecom unit. Vangilder began his Michigan Bell career in 1959 as an account trainee based in Southfield and has held various positions in accounting, personnel, marketing and other areas of the company.
 Vangilder and his wife Nancy live in West Bloomfield and have three children.
 Wellard, a 46-year-old Detroit native, began his Michigan Bell career in 1971 in the company's switching systems organization. He has worked in a variety of the company's departments, including its construction and engineering and installation and maintenance groups.
 Hempfling, a 50-year-old Chicago native, began his career with Illinois Bell in Chicago in 1964. He held various positions at Illinois Bell before joining Michigan Bell as general manager of carrier markets and switching in 1991.
 Dunny, a 41-year-old Manchester, Mich., native, joined Michigan Bell as an engineer in its wire center planning group in 1973. He has held positions in various parts of the company, including capital budgets, network planning and personnel.
