MICHAEL S. WITTERN PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT, EMPLOYEE RELATIONS IN HUMAN RESOURCES AT MCA/UNIVERSAL

 Promoted to Directors of Human Resources
 UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael S. Wittern has been promoted to vice president, Employee Relations in Human Resources at MCA/Universal, it was announced today by Jan Wood, vice president, Human Resources, MCA/Universal.
 In his new position, Wittern's responsibilities include the overview of the Employment, Employee Relations, EEO/Affirmative Action, Rideshare, Career Counseling and Employee Assistance Programs.
 Wittern joined MCA in 1988 as manager of Human Resources and was promoted to director of Human Resources in 1990. He previously worked for four years as manager, Human Resources at Candle Corp., a software development firm.
 Wood also announced the following additional promotions within the Human Resources department:
 -- Jo Ann Kenney has been promoted to director of Human Resources, Employment. She was previously manager of Human Resources, Employment. Kenney joined MCA in 1990 as professional recruiter, after working at Orion Pictures and the law office of Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
 -- Miriam L. MacLeod has been promoted to director of Human Resources, Employee Benefits, Training and Development. She was previously manager of Employee Benefits, Training and Development. MacLeod has been with MCA since 1979 and joined the Human Resources Department in 1989.
 -- Cassie Thomas has been promoted to director of Human Resources, Employee Relations. She was previously manager of Human Resources, Employee Relations. Thomas joined MCA in 1985 as an employment recruiter.
