MICHAEL JACOBS NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT OF SIMON & SCHUSTER TRADE DIVISION

 NEW YORK, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Jacobs has been named executive vice-president of the Simon & Schuster Trade Division of Paramount Publishing, it was announced today by Carolyn Reidy, president and publisher of the division. In this newly created position, Mr. Jacobs will be responsible for the overall publishing activities in the Trade Division, including sales, marketing and subsidiary rights.
 Mr. Jacobs takes on his new responsibilities as of July 6. Mr. Jacobs joins Paramount Publishing after more than 12 years at Penguin USA, where he has served as sales representative, sales manager, senior vice president of sales and marketing, and, for the last three years, president of the Viking Penguin division. Mr. Jacobs, 41, is a 1978 graduate of St. Joseph College, Philadelphia, with a bachelor of arts degree in English.
