MICHAEL D. BURKE SUBMITS RESIGNATION TO TEXAS EASTERN
PRODUCTS PIPELINE COMPANY
HOUSTON, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Clifford W. Rackley, chairman and chief executive officer of Texas Eastern Products Pipeline Company (TEPPCO), announced that Michael D. Burke, president and chief operating officer, has submitted his resignation effective the end of February.
Rackley will assume the duties of president and chief operating officer. He expressed appreciation to Burke for his service to the company and his leadership in creating the master limited partnership known as TEPPCO Partners, L.P.
Burke plans to pursue entrepreneurial business interests. "I plan to devote my full time and energy to investing in and building new businesses. I sincerely appreciate the efforts and accomplishments of the entire TEPPCO team and wish them continued success in building an excellent company," he said.
Burke joined Texas Eastern Corporation in 1980 as project director of Tri-State Synfuels, a subsidiary of Texas Eastern. He held a number of positions of increasing responsibility, including president of La Gloria Oil and Gas Company. In 1986, he was promoted to group vice president, products, of Texas Eastern Corporation and president of TEPPCO.
TEPPCO is the general partner of TEPPCO Partners, L.P., a publicly owned master limited partnership that owns and operates one of the largest common carrier pipelines of petroleum products in the United States.
