MICHAEL BOLTON FEATURED IN TARGET HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN Customers Who Purchase Coca-Cola Products at Target Will Be Contributing to the Prevention of Child Abuse

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 30 ~PRNewswire~ -- Grammy award-winner Michael Bolton, whose powerful voice is familiar to fans of rhythm and blues, pop, jazz and country, is joining Target Stores and Coca-Cola in a campaign to help stop child abuse.
During this holiday season, Target and Coca-Cola will make a contribution to the National Committee for Prevention of Child Abuse (NCPCA) for each purchase of Coca-Cola cans, bottles and collector ornaments in stores -- or Coca-Cola beverages at Target's Food Avenue. The contribution will allow NCPCA, which has suppt?ed local child abuse prevention chapters with volunteers, research, education, training and advocacy for more than 20 years, to support child abuse prevention programs throughout the country.
Bolton, who is an honorary member of NCPCA, is now appearing in a 30-second television spot sponsored by Target. In the commercial, the singer, songwriter and producer tells viewers: "This holiday, when you purchase any Coca-Cola product at a Target store you'll be making a contribution to prevent child abuse in your community."
Bolton was featured in a special child abuse prevention insert in Target's Nov. 29 advertising supplement, which is distributed in newspapers nationwide.
To support the campaign, shopping bags will read: "For children, the holidays should be filled with wonder. Not with wondering what could happen to them." In addition, tray liners will be used in Food Avenue that say: "Together, we can help our children grow up free from harm."
In addition to the child abuse prevention campaign, every Target store will give away a six-foot artificial Classic Christmas tree. Each tree will be decorated with approximately 100 Coca-Cola collector ornaments. Entry forms are available in the customer service area of stores.
Minneapolis-based Target Stores is an upscale discount department store chain of 508 stores in 32 states coast to coast and is the largest division of Dayton Hudson Corporation, one of the nation's leading retailers.
