MGN Digital partners with ROO to provide online video portal for mirror sites.

INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

MGN Digital, part of UK newspaper publisher Trinity Mirror, has revealed it is working with Internet video company ROO Group Inc (OTCBB:RGRP) to develop a video portal for Trinity Mirror's mirror.co.uk and sundaymirror.co.uk websites.

MGN Digital said the partnership with ROO is part of its strategy to place video at the centre of its websites. It said the sites will be more user-friendly and incorporate the new ROO video players.

From this month the mirror.co.uk homepage will host three embedded video players featuring news, sport and showbiz core content categories. Site visitors will also be able to chose video items as they move around the site, with the page transformed to reveal the Mirror Player through a slide-down screen.

In addition each site will generate its own video content, to be delivered through ROO's content management system, while advertisers will be able to buy pre-roll video and banner ad formats synchronised by campaign.

ROO claimed there is high demand for online video from the UK public and said traditional news organisations understand the need to provide an interactive experience for online visitors.
