MGM TO REDEEM 12 5/8 PERCENT NOTES

 CULVER CITY, Calif., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. ("MGM") announced today that it will redeem the entire outstanding principal amount (approximately $79 million) of its 12 5/8 percent senior subordinated notes due Dec. 15, 1993 (the "notes") in accordance with the terms of the indenture under which the notes were issued.
 The redemption will occur on March 15, 1993 (the "redemption date") and will result in holders of the notes receiving, upon surrender of the notes, 100 percent of the principal amount thereof plus interest accrued to the redemption date (the "redemption price"). A formal notice of redemption, together with instructions for surrendering the notes and receiving the redemption price, will be sent to holders promptly.
 MGM is involved in the worldwide production and distribution of motion pictures and television programs and operates theater chains in Europe.
