MGM STEPS UP OPERATIONS IN INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION

 SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ --Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.'s International Television Distribution and Worldwide Pay TV division continues to expand operations with the addition of four senior management members announced by President Gary Marenzi.
 Marvin Usevich has been appointed Director of Feature Marketing, where he will oversee research and marketing of MGM's extensive feature library for all international territories. Usevich rejoins the company after serving as Director of Feature Marketing at MGM/UA Television's Domestic Division from 1982 to 1990.
 Ana Francois has been named Manager of International Television Distribution, focusing on strategic planning and sales support for the division. Francois has been a consultant for MGM in this capacity since 1992 and now joins the company's permanent staff. She received her M.B.A. in Entertainment Management from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at U.C.L.A. in 1992.
 Carolyn Stalins has been tapped for MGM's Paris Office as Manager of European Sales, handling expansion into new territories as well as supporting existing client relationships. After receiving law degrees from the Universite de Paris and the Sorbonne, Stalins was an assistant at Gaumont Television's international co-production department in Paris. She was most recently at the French television network M6 as a purchasing assistant.
 Guy Petty is MGM's new Manager of Pay TV, with day-to-day responsibilities for U.S. pay-per-view operations and planning for both domestic and international pay TV ventures. He received his MBA from the University of Southern California and worked in financial planning for Continental Cablevision in Los Angeles.
 "These staff additions position MGM to take full advantage of the new opportunities being created as broadcast TV, basic cable/satellite, pay TV and pay-per-view continue to meld together. Marvin, Ana, Carolyn and Guy bring welcome sales and planning skills to support MGM's expansion into new territories and media worldwide," Marenzi said.
 The appointments are the latest steps in the division's expansion Marenzi began upon joining MGM one year ago. Since then he has added William Lee as Vice President of Worldwide Pay TV, Josh Elbaum as Vice President of International TV Distribution, and Gilberte de Turenne as Vice President of European TV sales. Lee began his career with MGM and rejoined the company after serving as Director of Sales at UIP Pay TV Group in London. Elbaum previously worked at ITC, where he was Vice President of European TV Sales. De Turenne, who oversees a staff of five in MGM's Paris sales office, also rejoined the company after stints at French TV network France 2 and independent distributor RevCom.
 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. is involved in the worldwide production and distribution of motion pictures and television programs.
