MGM PROMOTES PARNESS TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
AND CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
CULVER CITY, Calif., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard Parness has been appointed to the new post of senior vice president and chief administrative officer, for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., Co-Chairmen Alan Ladd Jr. and Dennis Stanfill announced today.
Parness will be responsible for a broad range of administrative functions, including human resources and benefits, purchasing, facilities administration and risk management. He also will retain an oversight and liaison role with the company's distribution group, where he served as executive vice president since 1987.
"Having built a solid reputation as part of MGM's team over the years, Richard now has the opportunity to contribute on a broader basis to the growth of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer," Ladd and Stanfill said.
Prior to joining MGM, Parness was a partner with the Los Angeles accounting firm of Duitch & Franklin, where he supervised the firm's business management practice. He also served as a vice president of Rastar Films, owned by producer Ray Stark.
Parness is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles and is a certified public accountant.
MGM is involved in the worldwide production and distribution of motion picture and television programs and operates theater chain in Europe.
