METROPOLITAN DETROIT RALLY'S RESTAURANTS TEAM UP WITH THE SALVATION ARMY TO FEED DETROIT'S HOMELESS AND HUNGRY ON EASTER

DETROIT, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- For a second year, more than 1,000 men, women and children in Detroit's Cass Corridor will enjoy a Rally's meal and Easter gifts at The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center at 2643 Park Ave. in Detroit on Easter Sunday, April 11, from 3:30-7:30 p.m.
Several metropolitan Detroit Rally's will provide two hamburgers, one order of fries and refreshments to the Harbor Light residents from 3:30-5 p.m., and from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to the surrounding community. Meals will be served in the dining room of the Harbor Light. Rally's will also take each child's photo with the Easter bunny and provide them with an Easter basket.
"The Salvation Army appreciates Rally's contribution, not only of the food, but the personal involvement of their employees who are taking time to help the less fortunate in the community," said Maj. Geoffrey Allan, director of the Harbor Light Center.
"Feeding people in the inner city has become a big issue, and we would like to see the kind of despair that exists there disappear," said Craig Sheppard, district manager of Metropolitan Detroit Rally's, Inc. "Anything Rally's can do, we're willing to do and we want to challenge all of our competitors to get out and do something or to do more than what they have already committed."
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, will be open for worship services to the metropolitan Detroit community in celebration of Easter Sunday.
Following is a listing of local services open to the community.
